Thank You's

I can't believe I didn't make ONE Christmas card this year! I was seriously too busy. I was sick before Thanksgiving, then I was on vacation, then I had shopping, wrapping, parties...oh my!

So I had to make sure I did my thank you cards and I used a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. Here's the sketch:

And here are some cards (I sealed most of them before taking a picture - oops!)

Birdie Birthday - SSS135

I looove the way this card came out. Mostly because of the adorable paper! This was a birthday card for someone I work with using this sketch:

Birthday Challenge

So I didn't enter my card for this challenge as it is from a few months ago but I definitely used the sketch for my boss's birthday card. Here is the sketch from Taylored Expressions:

Here is my card:

I also found a tutorial on how to make paper boxes and made one!
Isn't it adorable? And so easy - I'm definitely going to be making a lot of these. *Tip: For boxes to fit together - start with squares that are 1/2 inch different (for example, a 6 inch square and a 5.5 inch square will fit perfectly).

FTL 165 - Veteran's Day Card

So this is another big milestone...my first time entering a card! For this maiden voyage I've created a card using Clean & Simple Stamping's Fall to Layout #165:

This Friday is Veteran's Day so I decided to make my dad a card since he was in the Air Force for many years. The sentiment is embossed in white (my new favorite technique!).

Here's the inside as well:

I don't think I'll have too much time to enter challenges but I will try to as much as possible!

Boyfriend's Birthday!

Sometimes it's harder for me to make cards for those closest to me. My boyfriend of 8.5 years, for example. I think I made about 3 different cards before being satisfied. This is what I came up with:

It's another Z card version but I added a little twist with buttons and twine :) Here is what it looks like closed.

And this is it opened. I don't know if you can tell but the card stock on the bottom is purple. Go dawgs :)

A Sympathy Card

A friend at work lost her mom last week after a long battle with cancer. I made this sympathy card for her:

This is the inside of the card - gotta add a little flair in there!

Z Fold Cards

One of my favorite blogs is one by Mary Fish at Stampin' Pretty. She makes GORGEOUS cards and always has fun new ideas. Her card on October 20th was a Z fold card so I decided to try my own. I didn't have 12x12 inch cardstock so I had to fudge the measurements a bit. Mine started as a 10.5x4 inch paper. Then I scored at 1.75, 3.5, 7 and 8.75. I adhered fun paper to the outside panels and the inside, created a band that is 8.5 inches x 1 inch, stamped some sentiments and voila! 3 super cute cards:

This is a really cute new birthday stamp I bought at Michael's. Only $1!

I was trying to make this one more manly. The sentiment "party" is embossed with silver powder so it's a little harder to see.

This one is also a little less feminine so it could be used for a male birthday card.

A Few Past Cards

Here are a few cards I've taken pictures of with my phone:

This one was for my roommate's 25th birthday.

Another birthday card for a good friend.

A "congratulations! you had a baby boy!" card.

The Beginning

Well, I finally did it. I've been wanting to create a crafting blog for quite some time but felt too intimidated to do it. I play along with blog sketch challenges but haven't had the heart to upload any of them. I take pictures of my cards but was never able to submit mine for the challenges since I didn't have a blog. But now I do! I'll try to post my creations once or twice a week - even if I don't submit them for a challenge. Enjoy and I'd love any comments you have :)
